World of Warcraft - Item Upgrading
The upgrade of an item allows players to boost the gear rating of an item by up 700 points and also give it a bonus. Items can be upgraded by having them in inventory, and then taking them to the kiln.
Certain items are worth upgrading due to their distinctive stats. (For instance the perfect rolled breakpoint armor used in melee PvP). Other items such as weapons don't really change after an upgrade and aren't worth the cost.
Weapons
Upgrades to weapons can boost their numerical stats, such as attack damage, crit probability and PvE/PvP damage. upgrade item come with a flat bonus which increases the damage they deal per second. Some weapons also have a fixed bonus that is activated when three or more identical weapons are equipped in a unit. In some instances, this bonus could add up to more than the amount of damage a weapon is able to upgrade by itself.
The cost of upgrading a weapon's capabilities is contingent on the quality of the weapon and its current level. For instance, a +2 weapon requires two standard Smithing Stones while a+3 requires four. The number of stones required to upgrade the weapon will continue to rise until it requires an upgrade to a higher level of Smithing Stones, at which point it will reset to one.
The upgrade of weapons can also change their base stats. While this is usually an excellent thing but it can also have negative effects as well. Upgrades can make things impossible to use, unless you are extremely lucky.
It is possible to upgrade armor items to increase their stats. In the case of a helm or chest, it will boost the defense of its base, while gloves and belts enhance their required strength and dexterity. Armor also offers an option to reroll its Enhanced Defense percentage, which means that it can sometimes change its roll to a lower value.
The upgrade template of a weapon will show the new stats that it will gain upon upgrading, as well as the relative values of those stats. This means that a change from a sword that has 8 damage to an 11-attack-damage sword will result in the weapon gaining 33% attack damage. The 3% doesn't mean that the weapon will hit 3 times less, as it is an absolute number.
Rerolling a weapon is possible by pressing the green button in the item menu using the arrows that circle. This will reroll the item and change its stats, but it won't reset the weapon's level nor connect to the status of your account.
Armor
A few armor upgrades can make all the difference in your ability to survive. Certain sets can provide MASSIVE improvements in the resistance to poison, curses and fire as well as magic. This can make it easier to traverse difficult terrains. In general, the greater defense you have for your character, the more health you will gain from each point. So, it's best to upgrade your armor.
You can upgrade your armor by visiting any of the Great Fairy Fountains. There are four in total, and each requires you to complete a special side quest involving the Stable Trotters musical troupe. Once you've done the main side quest and have completed the fountain in question and then you can contact any Great Fairy to open up the armor upgrade menu.
Each piece of armor can be upgraded to three levels and the amount of material and Rupees needed for each level will differ. In general, you'll need at anywhere between three Red Chuchu Jellies and ten Rupees for the initial upgrade, and then anywhere from five Rubies and 10 Fire-Breath Horns for each subsequent upgrade. For example the Champion Leathers can be upgraded to +5 defense, allowing you to keep pace with a good-sized group of adversaries in most cold environments and the Snowquill Headdress can be upgraded up to +20 defense, giving the protection needed to survive an entire raid with a few of your friends.
You can't upgrade your armor in the same way as weapons. If you're playing as a Warrior then you should concentrate on upgrading your armor to increase physical strength or spell power. It's also a good idea to save your armor upgrades for armor you'll wear at the end of the game, such as the Ring of Lightning and Spectral Shield or the helmet you use for the final boss battle, the Monter Parts Merchant's mask.
By giving the jeweler 10 Twinkling Titanite in Gerudo Town in Gerudo Town, you can unlock some perks on your armor. It is generally recommended to save these upgrades to the weapon you'll use to win the game. For instance, the Longsword or Battleaxe. However, it's beneficial to have a few upgrades to the helmets and chest armor to allow you to sneak around some monsters.
Potions
Potions are substances in bottles that, when consumed provide the user with a temporary status effect. There are five types of potions, each having a specific set of effects and durations. Some potions may be upgraded, enhancing the effectiveness of their effects. You can also enhance the effects of certain potions by including glowstone dust and redstone.
Upgrades to potion cost a certain amount of XP. This can be earned by making them using a craft table or in the chest of the Alchemist. The upgrade price varies depending on the type of potion used and the item's Rarity and Mark Level.
To upgrade a potion, right-click it in your inventory. Then, select "Upgrade" from the menu. This will open an GUI that allows you to choose the potion that you wish to upgrade, and the amount of experience they will offer when upgraded. Upgrading potions can be done in batches of up to five at a time, and the XP they provide will be added to your current XP count.
When a poton is upgraded and stored, it will not degrade in the event that you take it out again or break the bottle within the container it is stored. Clicking on the potion in your inventory will allow you to change its name.
Version 1.7.2 introduced a few changes to the mechanics of potions. For example splash potions now have an average duration of zero,08 seconds (this is not the same as 22.5 seconds displayed on the hover display for the item). The table for potion can now be crafted with four Wood Planks and two Glass. This allows it to be utilized by players in Survival and Bedrock. In contrast to the Java Edition, Bedrock edition potions are not able to be combined in cauldrons. This is the same for using a potion within an empty cauldron. This will draw out the potion and refill the bottle.
Finally, there are lingering potions that are brewed with dragon breath and splash potions. Similar to lingering potions, the effect can be extended by adding redstone. The potion table is now laid out more in line with the Java Edition, and new potions were added such as the potion of leaping, the decomposition potion, and turtle master potions.
Trinkets
A trinket can be described as a small and affordable ornament or piece of jewelry. It may be a reference to an object or ornament that serves a purpose, but is not particularly important, such as a trinket. In certain cultures, a trinket is a way to express affection or friendship between family members.
Players can upgrade trinkets in addition to weapons and armor, as well as potions. They can be upgraded by visiting an upgrade vendor and paying the appropriate currency. Trinkets like other items that can be upgraded, can be exchanged at any time without losing statistics.
Upgrade vendors are located at the capitals of each zone and in some cases in dungeons. Upgrades for trinkets are available with tokens, gold, or fragments from rare trinkets.
Upgrades are a cost-effective alternative to buying a new trinket. It can be done by the player for as little as 12 tokens. The new trinket has the same level of base as the old trinket however, it will also come with an additional 1% bonus upgrade.
Once the old Trinkets are no longer usable they can be upgraded. This allows a player to increase both their power and value with time. They can also be traded between players and are an attractive alternative to gold.
In general players should make upgrades to their highest priority items first. This typically means the top-of-the-line items for their class, followed by their secondaries, and finally other items of gear they won't replace soon (for example rings or cloaks). Players should also take into consideration their class's preferred stats when choosing which items to upgrade. For example If Haste and Crit are the two most important stats for tankers, they should prioritize upgrading their helm, chest, shoulders, and belt.
After they've become unusable trinkets can be upgraded to a higher level. The new trinket has an additional bonus of 1. However, a re-upgrade will ruin the previous trinket until it is salvaged using the Black Lion Salvage Kit or a higher-tier salvage tool. This means upgrading trinkets is more expensive than other upgrades, but is still less expensive than buying a new one.
